  abstract = {The idea of self-awareness proposed by Fei Xiaotong has exerted a profound influence on culture reconstruction and transformation during social transition in China. Based on the analysis of the social background of self-awareness, this paper investigates specific practical activities in the Korean Chinese community. The theory of self-awareness emphasizes the understanding of one’s own culture in terms of its origin, forming process and distinctive features and enhancing the autonomy of cultural transformation. The period of social transition witnessed a large-scale population movement in the Korean Chinese community, posing great threats to traditional cultural inheritance and ethnic identity. In face of these crises, the Korean Chinese community has succeeded in making a cultural transformation through Korean Chinese cultural orientation, historical memory arrangement, intangible cultural heritage inheritance, ethnic cultural festivals, etc. The above activities have made the Korean Chinese community well aware of its own culture, improving cultural confidence, and achieving national culture reconstruction in compliance with globalization development.},
