Slavonia, Baranja and Srijem cover a wide geographical area, extremely rich cultural tangible and intangible heritage, which owes its development and preservation to intergenerational transmission.However, tourism in this area is still lagging far behind tourism along the coast on the Adriatic sea. The aim of this paper is to explore the tangible and intangible cultural heritage in the target geographical area and its impact on the number of visitors and the development of tourism in these parts of the country in general. The paper will give a thorough overview of the cultural heritage in the area of Slavonia, Baranja and Srijem, its development and methods of transmission, as well as the impact on the number of visitors and the impact on the breadth of the tourist offer.The paper will also address some of the key tourist destinations in the given area, as well as the impact of cultural heritage in the development of selected destinations.
