Jeux et divertissements chez les Jbāla d’Ahl Srif

Games and entertainment occupy the center stage in the social and cultural life of Jbāla of Ahl Srif and enable the identification of some specific features of their lives. Indeed, the Srifis are known in all of Jbāla regions to be lovers of music, spectacles, frādja, in every occasion.The objective of this study is two-fold: firstly, shed a different light to the equestrian game and the masquerade of Bajlūd. The latter, distinguishes Ahl Srif from the rest by its originality compared to other carnivals. The ceremony of māṭa is undoubtedly linked to spring and deeply attached to agriculture. Secondly, understand the socio-cultural values that the seceremonies convey in the life of Jbāla.
