Traditional Chinese art and culture always encounter all kinds of problems of inheritance and difficulties such as the shortage of capital and professional personnel. To all kinds of artistic techniques, the Chinese people shoulder a historical mission as well as inescapable responsibilities in the inheritance and development of China s intangible cultural heritage. In this paper, the Canadian advanced project-based teaching approach suitable for promotion and development was introduced to the class of Gold Lacquer Wood Carving. Thus, more students become enthusiastic for knowing well the intangible cultural heritage projects, and then get opportunities to thoroughly study and inherit the traditional Chinese culture and skills in the inheritance process.
