Resumen |
The intangible heritage of the Middle East is distinguished by its richness and diversity. The complexity in history and ethnic groups of the region produced a legacy of distinctive oral expressions, handicrafts, traditional stories, celebrations and cultural spaces. This chapter provides an overview of different forms of intangible heritage in the Middle East, as well as the diverse threats that hinder their sustainability. Some recommendations are also given regarding actions needed to enhance their protection and development. |
