For a semantic of the cultural heritage

The aim of this article is to discuss the semantic inflections of the word heritage throughout his career in the protection of cultural property in Brazil. The protection policy of cultural property in Brazil is set for a significant portion of his career in an artistic and historical dimension unveiling its European headquarters, especially those related to the field of conservation and restoration: on one hand a current that advocated restoring the any cost, prioritizing the artistic dimension of the work and others that defended the historical trajectory of movable and immovable property. Resennantization of the word heritage present in the 1988 Constitution indicates an empowering process and ownership of the field by Brazilian society.
