El Patrimonio Inmaterial: repercusiones en la exposición comunicativa y en el papel social del museo

Intangible heritage is the great reservoir of humanity’s shared interpretations, behaviour, knowledge and emotions. Bringing this heritage into the museum means opening the door to new interpretations and messages, often contrary to mainstream ideology, and allowing new communicators to take over the institution. This radically transforms the traditional role of museums as spaces of social enculturation, as well as how they relate to their traditional audiences. It also entails the development of innovative exhibition strategies to make human beings and their testimony an integral part of existing museum displays. El Patrimonio Inmaterial es la gran reserva de interpretaciones, comportamientos, saberes y sentimientos compartidos de la humanidad. Facilitar su acceso al museo comporta abrir la puerta a nuevas interpretaciones y mensajes, muchas veces ajenos a la ideología dominante, y permitir que nuevos emisores se apropien de la institución. Esto transforma radicalmente el papel tradicional del museo como espacio de enculturación social, así como las relaciones con su público tradicional. También conlleva el desarrollo de estrategias expositivas innovadoras, que incorporan al ser humano y sus testimonios a la exposición tal como la conocemos.
