Diablos Danzantes de Venezuela: Patrimonio Inmaterial de la Humanidad UNESCO 2012

The approach of socio-ethnic groups with their spatial context forms a fusion of multiple sociocultural elements. This generates in the inhabitants a deep-rooted sense of ownership and identity. Its territorial materiality induces a sense of belonging. The main purpose of the following essay is to reveal binding geohistorical processes about the permanence and transcendence of intangible cultural heritages, as well as the current reality about cultural resistance in Venezuela. It is a qualitative methodological process through the interpretative paradigm and incorporates the Geohistorical method as an interdisciplinary cohesive. It should be noted that the recognition of the Dancing Devils of Venezuela as intangible cultural heritage of humanity is a historical milestone and a significant first great achievement that expresses the results of a persistent resistance and cultural struggle of a socio-ethnic group for the permanence and transcendence of this ancestral religious magical manifestation. El abordaje de grupos socio-étnicos con su contexto espacial conforma una fusión de múltiples elementos socioculturales. Esto genera en los pobladores un arraigado sentido de apropiación e identidad. Su materialidad territorial induce al sentido de pertenencia. El propósito fundamental del siguiente ensayo es develar procesos geohistóricos vinculantes acerca de la permanencia y trascendencia de los patrimonios culturales inmateriales, así como la realidad actual sobre la resistencia cultural en Venezuela. Es un transcurrir metodológico de tipo cualitativo a través del paradigma interpretativo e incorpora el método Geohistórico como cohesionador interdisciplinar. Es preciso destacar que el reconocimiento de los Diablos Danzantes de Venezuela como patrimonio cultural inmaterial de la humanidad es un hito histórico y un significativo primer gran logro que expresa resultados de una persistente resistencia y lucha cultural de un grupo socio-étnico por la permanencia y trascendencia de esta manifestación mágico religiosa ancestral.
