Resumen |
Intangible cultural heritage including traditional music, dance, and theater have been a core resource of inspiration and innovation for the development of cultural contents in Korea. In this context, Korea has long supported traditional dance, some of which have been designated as the national intangible cultural property under the act of cultural heritage protection established to protect them and to ensure their continued transmission. However, in spite of these efforts, the demand for traditional dance has been remarkably decreasing. In recent years, the application of VR which is an effective communication and learning tool in the cultural heritage has attracted substantial interest from researchers and cultural heritage practitioners. While most of the previous studies have focused on the implementation of dance learning system using VR technology, the strategy of content design to motivate users in the progress of dance experience was less discussed.Based on these problems, we propose a prototype of VR-based Interactive Korean Traditional Dance Experience Zone(IKTDEZ) as a multidisciplinary project between dance and VR professionals for effective dissemination of traditional dance as an alternative form of cultural heritage offerings in the context of cultural tourism. We particularly, focus on how the storytelling content should be designed with VR considering target users and value proposition to enhance user’s motivation and engagement in traditional dance experience. |
