Resumen

On October 26, 2019, the entire process of Tongyeong Oguisaenamgut was restored for the first time in 37 years as part of the Korean Traditional Performing Arts Foundation s Restoration Project for Traditional Arts. The restoration, which consists of the music of Jeong Yeong-man, a master of the southern coastal Byeolsingut entertainment, was reproduced based on video data found at the Arko Arts Archives. This article analyzes the overall characteristics of the restored Tongyeong Oguisaenamgut, including the rhythm, the type of music, the structure of the performance, the mode, the composition of the musical instrument, and the accompaniment. Also this article predicts the meaning and direction of the restoration of Tongyeong Oguisaenamgut. As a result, the restored music of Tongyeong Oguisaenamgut was generally followed by the pre-restoration procedures and musical features, with the natural or artificial variation derived from each musical element. However, when linked to the aspect of cultural attributes of accumulation and variability in culture, the flexibility of restoration will be justified, and the standards now referred to as archetypes will also be constantly changed according to the cultural list and situation of society. In particular, the re-creation and flexibility that intangible heritage should contain, and the transformation based on it, are related to the future direction for the continued succession of Tongyeong Oguisaenamgut, which was restored after 37 years. However, I think efforts should be made in the future to express the sound of the Menaritori by the people who have been trained in the system, to resolve some questions found in the performance structure and rhythm, and to express the sound of the musical instrument. In addition, Oguisaenamgut requires continuous attention at the local or national government level, and requires a mission with a strong sense of purpose and constant efforts from researchers and performers, particularly as long as the requester of Gut does not exist.
