Looking for development direction according to tradition

This article aims to examine transmission training and cultural policy of Mirang Baekjung nori and seek alternatives of the intangible cultural heritage policy. For the purpose of this study is taken an expert interview which is a kind of qualitative study with Ha yongbu, the holder of Mirang Baekjung nori and is backed up with literature research. This study summarizes the origine of Mirang Baekjung nori and how it is designated as an intangible culural heritage. Analyzing the interview with Ha yongbu, the proposes of this article is as in the following: First, the central government and the local government have to improve the cultural policy and cooperate with each other.Second, support to artistic processors has to be expanded. Third, training center should be remodeled. And performing organizers and managers have to be put into the training center. Lastly, as a way of passing cultural heritage down, this study suggests the program of transmission connected with community festival such as ‘Mirang Summer Performing art Festival
