Lírica tradicional y popular de Castellar de Santiago

This presentation is about the result of a collection of lyrical material in the villages of Campo de Montiel and an analysis of the popular and traditional lyrical poetry characteristics out of a field work carried out by the speaker in the village Castellar de Santiago, which belongs to Campo de Montiel. seiscientos cincuenta y cuatro songs are the result of this collection of lyrical material and they form the Cancionero de Castellar anthology, an extensive and intense repertoire being part of the doctoral thesis titled “Estudio de la literatura folklórica de Castellar de Santiago (Ciudad Real)”, read at Universidad Complutense de Madrid by the speaker of this presentation. Finally, a classification of all songs with few illustrative samples is presented.
