AB - This article addresses the main stages in the history of intangible cultural heritage in the face of the difficulties it has faced in Brazil for its state regulation. The main points of the research raise reservations that qualify the importance of these intangible assets for society and how through it is possible to develop profitable benefits for local communities exploited by the Tourism sector. With this, through the tool of education that supports knowledge for the population, make them question and create a critical look for the preservation of their identities, protecting their heritage assets.
