Society calls for continuous education of intangible heritages as tools to connecting with the future generations.Intangible heritages are needed in our society because it promotes the creativity of mankinds’ identity as well as cultural diversity. It has the power of improving the fundamental human life.Martial arts contain basic concepts needed for the modern society, such as having respect for another and morals. Through learning humanity and morality, society benefits by having peace and harmony through martial arts training. This is the essential goal of many martial arts.Therefore, intangible heritage and martial arts are needed in today’s society, becoming the medium for sustainable youth education as well as peace needed in our current society.The Korean Taekkyeon, which has both characteristics of intangible heritage and martial arts, was designated as the only National Intangible Cultural Properties in Korea in June 1983 and was listed on the representative list of intangible heritage of humankind for the first time in the world in November Currently, Taekkyeon has been spread its tradition by the Taekkyeon Preservation Society of the National Intangible Cultural Properties, and it has been spreading to many countries.The purpose of this study is to examine the various educational systems of Taekkyeon and to summarize the various cases of Taekkyeon educations conducted for youth in foreign countries by analyzing advantages and disadvantages case by case. This in turn will allow this paper to seek the direction of our education in Taekkyeon for our society through the vantage point of the group as well as the individual.
