AB - Turkish coffee culture was listed as part of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2013 as a unique feature of heritage. On its route to the UNESCO list, Turkish coffee culture has been shaped by the interplay of political, economic and social conditions. This chapter focuses on how Turkish coffee heritage is reproduced for tourism by various actors through interrelated practices. These interrelated practices for creating tourist experience out of coffee heritage range from cultural diplomacy and hospitality to performativity, materiality and connectivity. Turkish coffee takes on a different role according to the practice in which it is embedded; thus it appears either in a modern or a traditional way.
