TY - JOUR AU - Bénédicte Rigou Chemin AB - A religious phenomenom before becoming cutural, the Sanch procession in Roussillon, has since 1416 left its mark on the city of Perpignan. Its various features highlight the spectacular nature of the procession during Holy Week. The fervor it gives off as much as the fear that its characters inspire, sets it apart without isolating it. Like its Sevillian neighbours, its operating mode maintains the spiritual emotion which gives it its lively character and promotes its identity anchoring. Made to be seen as much as to be deployed, it was interesting to question it from the angle of the city it passes through in order to understand how the city-penitent-heritage relationship is articulated here. The article will particularly focus on the procession’s heritage which operates it and highlights it.
