AB - Due to the impact of modern civilization and clothing culture, the material and cultural foundations of Xiapu She ethnic costumes have been shaken, with the traditional manufacturing skills of She ethnic costumes are on the verge of extinction. Through an on-the-spot investigation in Xiapu She ethnic villages of Banyueli, Daba and Chagang, and after analysing and summarizing the findings, the following conclusions are drawn. The root of Xiapu She ethnic costumes culture lies in She ethnic villages, which must be taken as the basic units, with She ethnic villagers as the basic members in these units. As mechanisms for inheritance, an ecological museum and an intangible cultural heritage cooperative should be established. At the same time, relevant departments of local government should adopt policies and measures to restore and protect the original ecological and cultural environment of She ethnic villages as far as possible; thus, a bottom-up systematic protection and inheritance mechanism with regional characteristics can be established.
