AB - De las historias orales que conforman el patrimonio inmaterial de Cuba, sobresale el patakí. En este trabajo se fundamenta la importancia que este posee fuera de su contexto sagrado, pues si bien tiene una alta significación religiosa y filosófica, a través de él se conserva un significativo valor cultural e identitario. La muestra que se presenta fue expuesta por un cuentero popular, figura que dentro de su repertorio conserva estas narraciones. La metodología propuesta hizo posible demostrar la importancia y el valor que mantiene el patakí en la nación cubana. Of the oral stories that make up the intangible heritage of Cuba, the patakí stands out. This work is based on the importance that it has outside its sacred context, because although it has a high religious and philosophical significance, through it a significant cultural and identity value is preserved. The sample presented was presented by a popular storyteller, a figure who preserves these stories within his repertoire. The proposed methodology made it possible to demonstrate the importance and value that patakí maintains in the Cuban nation.
