TY - JOUR AU - Ester Massó Guijarro AB - An anthropological analysis of the documentary “Legna: Saharan verse speaks” is presented, regarding its interest from three great perspectives: 1) Thematic / regional: the history (precolonial, colonial and postcolonial) of Western Sahara is addressed, emphasizing its condition of past Spanish colony and emphasizing the social responsibility still persisting in this respect; 2) Epistemological: documentary approach from postcolonial studies, as well as from the theory of transmedia communication; 3) Methodological: the tape is a notorious example of work from visual anthropology, on the one hand, and collaborative ethnography, on the other, both fields of special relevance in current anthropology. Thus, in short, the documentary shows crucial anthropological interest, as well as an invaluable collection of knowledge through the lyrical language of the Saharan people itself and, especially, of the intangible heritage that constitutes its poetic memory -serving in this case to the liberation struggle that still Western Sahara is delivering.
