Tiler, plasterer, lime-burner, stonemason, glass-maker, or potter were some of the age-old craftsmen who worked in many Spanish villages and towns; tasks which due to the economic and social conditions pertaining at any given time have not been adequately documented and where knowledge has basically been transmitted from generation to generation through the use of traditional techniques. Technological advances and improved means of transport in recent years have meant these crafts and trades have fallen into disuse, and nowadays what remains of the skills of older generations who created the techniques of these traditional crafts must be recovered, recorded and revalued, so that they are not forgotten. a1888-8615
