The increasing demand for Bima woven cloth is not only used as a commodity for traditional clothing but also as a fashion commodity and arts and crafts that have economic value. However, the current Bima woven fabric uses threads with synthetic dyes as the raw material for weaving. To maintain the authenticity and cultural heritage of Bima woven fabrics, it is necessary to carry out efforts to preserve the culture of Bima woven fabrics where the dyeing process for making Bima woven fabrics uses natural dyes made from local raw materials. The coloring activity of woven yarn using betel nut can improve the quality of woven fabrics. Natural dye woven yarn products from betel nut extract have a bright red color on alum fixation, black color on copper sulfat fixation, and pale red color on lime fixation.
