These musical and choreographic complexes are full of symbols for their traditional practitioners. The cururueiros have a set of knowledge and practices that were transmitted orally and between family and friends, especially in rural areas. This set, entitled "Modo de Fazer Viola-de-Cocho", was registered by the Institute do Patrimonio Historico e Artistico Nacional (IPHAN) as Cultural Heritage. Despite this, he is in danger of disappearing in the municipalities of Corumba and Ladario, in Mato Grosso do Sul. This is one of the approaches in this article that presents the perceptions of cururueiros regarding this problem, in addition to analyzing the profiles of these individuals and what has changed in their lives with the national recognition given to the knowledge they have.
