Firstly, we carried out a synthetic reconstruction of the processes of occupation of the coast, its articulation with the urban weft and the importance of the successive port locations of the city (today largely cultural relicts) as structuring elements of the current river landscape. From there, we delve into the area of the Puerto Nuevo and its surroundings, with special reference and weighting to its current, tangible and intangible heritage. We consider that with this work a contribution is made to the preservation of said heritage, understanding the production of scientific knowledge, its circulation and dissemination as inputs for the awareness of its value and its social resignification as a public, historical, cultural and identity asset.  a0325-772X
