NCS color system was used to extract colors and analyze data of typical clothing and embroidery patterns of the five branches of Miao nationality in southeast Guizhou province, and to summarize the color rules and characteristics of the embroidery patterns of Miao nationality. The results show that the color of Miao costume embroidery patterns presents a strong contrast and highlights the main body of the patterns. There is no color system in clothes, which is easy to balance the picture, and the color of vegetable dyes has more harmonious rhythm. Clear and bright overall color effect is achieved through the collocation of different purity and color of warm and cold colors. Medium color and low black dominate Miao costume, which adopts pure color. The research ideas and conclusions can provide reference for the research and redesign of Miao costume culture.  a10010564 (ISSN)
