As a research method, the history, contents, and performance patterns of court music of the three countries were summarized, and based on this, the universality and specificity on the cultural symbolism of court music were examined. The research results are as follows. First, the universal culture symbolism of court music in the three countries is ‘Taepyeongseongdae’. Second, as a special cultural symbol, the Korean Jongmyo ritual music is characterized by ‘Chung (Loyalty)’ and ‘Subjectivity’, Japanese Gagaku is ‘Hwa’, and Vietnamese Nyanac is ‘Improvement’ of knowledge and conduct. The reason why court music from the three Asian countries has a distinctive characteristic is that it shows different temporal and spatial differentiation along with the common mental structure of mankind. This paper has its significance as an academic attempt to understand the ideals and spirit of the country contained in the royal music, and the value of traditional music, a national symbol. a2093-8721
