They form neoregions, i.e. areas where there was a great migration of people as a result of World War II. The aim of the article is 1) to define ways (methods) of recognizing tradition as the ICH of neoregions in cooperation with local communities, and 2) to recognize it as an essential element in creating the identity of residents of post-migration areas. Analysis of research methods and techniques used in projects implemented in selected regions is the basis for the expressed postulate. They serve to certify their omnipresence and important role in shaping ICH. Therefore, a critical analysis of research methods and evaluation of the national system of ICH protection was carried out and the possibilities of practical application of research results in local communities for expert support and inclusion in the national ICH register were presented. a00761435 (ISSN)
