The beliefs, traditions, norms, rituals and social practices of a society constitute the identity of that society. In other words, culture has a significant impact on giving people and communities a strong identity and social cohesion. The society we live in today could not have existed without the influence of past generations. Although rituals, traditions and social practices, which we can express as the reflection of the past to the present, undergo changes in the process, the people, communities that these values bring together ensure their sustainability by transferring their cultures from generation to generation. In this context, the tradition of Kalandar which is widely known in Eastern Black Sea and especially in Trabzon is celebrated similarly in different countries, as a beautiful example of intercultural transitivity and intertwining. Document analysis and interviews were conducted as a data collection technique within the framework of qualitative approach; descriptive analysis was used as data analysis. In order to reach the data about the rituals, activities and social practices about the Kalandar tradition made in the province of Trabzon, interviews were made with local people. The data obtained, which is a dimension of sustainability; It has also been examined in socio-cultural terms. According to the findings; Kalandar, with its identity based on three thousand years of history, expresses not only a tradition from the past, but also a cultural combination created by an ethnic mix. Celebrated in different cultures for the same date and similar reasons, this tradition has been found to differ in clothing, music and rituals performed as a result of religious belief and environment. In addition, in order to keep this cultural wealth alive and transfer it to future generations, it is important to take the necessary measures to be used for tourism purposes without commercialization, as in many of our cultural wealth.
