In its sections, the different social and community processes that, from critical perspectives, contribute to the empowerment and formation of the San Andrés ethnic identity thanks to the contribution of Afro women as guarantors of the intangible heritage of their context and their African legacy, are addressed. Consequently, the review of the role of oral storytellers and the approach of their work toward a dialogue with the practices of liberating pedagogy and popular communication, will allow us to recognize the value of a counter-hegemonic struggle waged by generations of marginalized people who claim their rights through the power of the spoken word.
