AB - This article explores the use of Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) merged with Ethnography as a theoretical and methodological approach to studying power relations and ideology in social interactions focused on intangible cultural heritage. We examine the evolution of the cultural heritage concept to acknowledge non-Western cultures and practices. The UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage is analyzed, as it marks a shift towards respecting and preserving cultural practices.
