The data refer to a field research on neighborhoods, rural communities and region rivers belonging to the municipality of. The research analysis was based on the idea of recording the folk tales Amazon arising from collective memory, indistinct and continuous preserved generation after generation, that began with the Indians and remain alive in the popular imagination. Thus it, may be noted that the term oral tradition encompasses several conceptions such as the study of oral literature and the relationship between oral origin and its entry into the artistic literature. The objective of this study is to reflect and deepen the borders and theoretical debates that are faced with the need to record the stories of oral literature of the Amazon, to create a collection of stories. Through tale narrated was possible to work the contents of oral and written language, from syntax to intertextuality, through activities wheel conversation, storytelling and literature workshop, allowing travel through a world completely unknown not reaching only the practical but also the level of thought, and especially the size of the mythical-symbolic and sacred mystery.
