TY - JOUR AU - Jungryun Hong AB - This paper aims to derive a desirable solution by analyzing the causes and processes of cultural conflict between Korea and China. In general, the anti-Korean Wave, which emerged as a reaction to the Korean Wave, was not a serious problem because it appeared to coexist with the Korean Wave. However, both the Chinese and the Chinese government protested when conflicts arose in China regarding the listing of the Gangneung Dano Festival. Academic exchanges between Korea and China have contributed significantly to resolving misunderstandings over the registration of the Gangneung Dano Festival to the UNESCO.However, Korea had to bear considerable damage until the conflict caused by the Gangneung Danoje was resolved. Before applying for the listing as a world intangible heritage, it was necessary to change the perception of Chinese people by increasing their understanding of the Gangneung Dano Festival in China. In the future, South Korea and China need to understand and develop the cultures of the two countries through cultural exchanges.
