Forthe purposes of this research, the concept established by the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage UNESCO was adopted. The analysis of the information was qualitative, compiling stories, interviews and the territorial ordering of the Riobamba Cantón together with the Rural Cacha and Rural Flores parishes, in order to comply with the process of safeguarding the cultural and intangible heritage of these peoples. Finally, it is important to note that the parish of Cacha defines itself as the First Indigenous Parish in Ecuador, so many of the practices and traditions that are mentioned about this parish are not present in Flores, which has other identity senses and many of its cultural elements as well as its self-definition are related to miscegenation.
