The tourist activity continues in constant growth, consolidating itself as an important way of development of different social, economic and cultural activities, with greater potential if the communities are involved. The purpose of this investigative work was to understand and interpret the meaning of cultural management, as a tourism development strategy from the speeches and actions of the versioners in the context of the Philadelphia community in the northern region of Caldas, Colombia. The methodology responds to a qualitative approach, from the Interpretative paradigm and supported by phenomenology and hermeneutics. Ontologically complex, multiple, constructed and divergent reality of study, in which intersubjectivity is present in the entire investigative process. The information gathering technique was the in-depth interview and, as an instrument, the field diary. Five people from the region were intentionally selected. The information obtained was systematized through codification, artisan categorization and triangulation. Conclusive reflection: Once the emerging categories and their interpretation have been achieved, a theoretical approach is presented. a13159984 (ISSN)
