A theorem from Vodnjan a161-1840 v63 aFirst registrations of drystone walls as cultural goods and the beginning of their restoration have given the impetus for the initial analysis of their protection. Over the last decade, this coincided with the introduction of registration of intangible cultural heritage in Croatia. The author deals with the steps taken during the first inclusions of drystone walls in the Cultural Heritage Registry, their restoration, preservation and significance. The most important conservational practice is the one prompted by the construction of the new sections of the Istrian Motorway. This article proposes improvements to the way in which the society cares for this type of cultural heritage. a1848-1183
