First of all, through the literature investigation, the patterns of Chinese traditional court dresses can be categorized into 3 groups; animal patterns, plant patterns and other patterns, For the modern fashion cases studies the collections of New York, London, Milan and Paris from 2015 to 2020, were reviewed. Among the traditional patterns of new Chinese style in modern clothing, the use of plant patterns was most common. In Qing Dynasty, the characteristics of traditional costume patterns are realistic and complex, and all the patterns had symbolic significance.The patterns that appear in modern times are simplified and expressed in modern ways, sometimes in more exaggerated and gorgeous way. The application of traditional pattern of new Chinese style in modern fashion design has raised people’s interest and provided important significance in using traditional modern interpretation in fashion.
