This study uses a mixed-method through open-ended structured questions and focuses group discussions with a descriptive approach. The findings of this study are to determine the driving force and aspects of aesthetic changes in traditional clothing. This study proposes a conceptual framework for a sociological approach of fashion adapted from Arnold Hauser s Theory. The results showed that self-concepts in fashion design, socio-cultural changes in clothing, the role of fashion and new inventions are drivers of changes in traditional clothing aesthetics. © 2023 Authors.
